The PhDx Spine Application allows physicians to gauge the effectiveness of their practices by tracking post-op quality of life. With the help of Spine, physicians can compare their outcomes to other spine practices, generate real-time reports, automate manual processes, conduct peer comparisons and generate cost driver information.
Spine focuses on collecting patient-reported information to minimize data collection. By way of two nationally validated instruments – the Oswestry Back Pain Disability Questionnaire and the Neck Disability Index – Spine allows patients to complete online or hard copy progress-measuring surveys. Additionally, Spine e-View™ is available to physicians for online outcomes information and peer comparison reports.
The Spine application contains two surgical outcome modules:
- The Cervical 2000 module to measure cervical spine surgery outcomes.
- The Low Back 2000 module, to measure low back surgery outcomes.
PhDx offers two secure interfaces for managing, reporting and collecting the data:
- Care Management – Staff can manage and track patient outcomes.
- MyHealthPage™ – Patients can complete surveys and directly communicate with staff.
Initially, the physician’s office completes clinical baseline information surveys and a cervical or lumbar surgical summary. The patient then completes baseline health status surveys and an information form. After the operation, the patient will complete follow-up surveys at pre-determined intervals to measure improvement. All of the data is stored in PhDx’s single database repository, allowing the physician access to study data wherever and whenever he chooses. |
